The perfect cabin for those who plan to stay longer than a couple of nights. With 9 windows this bright and cheery cabin will beckon to you to stay weeks or even months. This size has been used for a “bunk house”, personal residence, housekeeping cottage and managers residence. The interior photograph shown above showcases the spacious and bright cabin. The owners chose to add a beautiful spiral staircase leading to the loft.
The basic kit is comprised of the exterior shell of the cabin. Designed for you to create your own furniture layout, add electricity, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, etc. Optional
upgrades are available. The loft can be deleted for $4,320.
Package includes:
- Flooring: Douglas fir 2 x 6 tongue and groove.
- Log Walls: Tongue and groove 14 log courses high exterior side walls (optional interior walls available).
- Roof Beams: Three large round lodge Pole Pine or Western Larch roof beams approx. 9" in diameter. NOTE: These beams can be upsized (for a small additional charge) to support snow loads in excess of 30-40lb.per square foot.
- Loft: Includes vertical posts, horizontal rails, vertical spindles, log ladder (Some kitchen counter space may be sacrificed if a spiral staircase is substituted.), loft ceiling light, additional electrical, 3" thick tongue and groove Douglas Fir decking with center loft support beam, and loft window. The interior wall package is highly recommended if a loft is added to this cabin. For those desiring a cabin with a usable loft and added living space, the 16' x 26½' (minimum size) is strongly recommended. The addition of the loft to the 14' x 22' should primarily be used for storage space only.
- Door: Insulated fiberglass Therma Tru exterior door with deadbolt and passage lock.
- Porch: Radius Douglas fir decking, post and rails.
- Windows: Front (tempered glass), rear and side for a total of 9 vinyl insulated slider windows.
- Roof: Gambrel cedar shake, (see upgrades for metal or asphalt).
- Finishes: Exterior and interior stains and varnishes along with caulking for the log walls.
- Hardware: Foam sealant between the log courses (for additional insulation and weather protection) along with all screws, nails, and other necessary hardware .
The following two floor plans depict the versatility of this cabin. The “bunkhouse” style is popular for children’s camps and adult retreats with the loft used for storage. The bottom floor plan displays a spacious kitchen/living area, bedroom, bathroom and multi-purpose loft. Please check your local, county and state regulations for loft usages.
